In this Accounting online course, the student will complete the various steps of the accounting cycle, demonstrate and apply an understanding of the accounting equation, and classify accounts as assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses. Students will analyze business transactions, determine the value of assets, liabilities and equity according to generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, the student will prepare, interpret, and analyze financial statements, and apply appropriate accounting principles to payroll and income taxation. Finally, the student will learn to formulate business decisions by completing business simulations based on the accounting cycle. This course is a semester in length.

Jack Altenburger teaches the following courses: Accounting, Personal Finance and Introduction to Business.  He has a M.A. in Educational Administration and a B.A. in Business Administration.  He has taught high school business courses and has been a high school principal and the superintendent of the Diocese of Toledo until he retired in 2010.
